I’m Not Feeling You Supreme Court Decision Overturning The Ban On Handguns
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
Look, I love the Constitution, but it seems kind of tragic to allow people to shoot each other in the face over a question of grammar:
“The amendment’s prefatory clause announces a purpose, but does not limit or expand the scope of the second clause,” wrote Justice Scalia. “The operative clause’s text and history demonstrate that it connotes an individual right to keep and bear arms.”
I really do hate me some Scalia.

hey, the Constitution was written a long time ago. It’s history. “Get over it.”

I don’t have a gun or plan to get one. But the paranoid in me says that it is probably a bad idea to hand over our right to posses firearms. Especially in light of the last 8 years of quasi-fascist fuckery. Not sure that it would help me to have a handgun if the Ministry of Love comes knocking on my door, but it still seems weird to just give up the right/privlege of having one anyway.
