I’m Still Not Feeling You Israel
Someone pointed out the other day that if qassam rockets were hitting New York I’d be lining up to fight. Maybe. Now, again, I have an easy time saying I’m anti-rocket attack. However, and there are conflicting reports here, but according to the most pro-Israel sources, Qassam rockets have killed somewhere between 23 and 30 people since 2000. In 2008, 5 people were killed by rockets within Israel, 437 people died in traffic accidents during the same period, when’s Israel gonna start bombing Toyota?
Maybe if Qassam rockets were hitting New York I’d be lining up to fight. Maybe, but in 2008 5 people were killed by rockets within Israel and there were 538 homicides in New York City. Since I haven’t gone out and joined the force I probably wouldn’t be lining up to knock some heads in Gaza.
On the other hand, if some fighter jets swooped in and killed my neighbors’ ten kids, even if I thought my neighbor was a fucker, I might have some shit to say.
