I’m Not Feeling You

This won 11 Emmys last night, including the categories Best Boring Miniseries, Best Use of Blankets, Sweatiest Face (Actor), Sweatiest Face (Actress) and Pointiest Hats.

You know who’s not feeling John McCain? Joy Behar. It speaks volumes that the most issue-based questioning he’s received from the media so far was on The (fucking) View.

Also, you should watch the whole interview ’cause later on when he starts talking about appointing constructivist judges who adhere strictly to the constitution Whoopie Goldberg turns to him and asks if she’s going to be returned to slavery.

So, these music publishers are suing Lil Wayne for sampling a song they own without paying them for the use. (BTW, how offensive is that LA Weekly Cartoon?) The thing is, the song was on a mixtape that Wayne gave away. So he never made money on it. And the song was ”I Feel Like Dying” and it’s great.

So they’re suing him for using a sample that he didn’t profit off of, which is to say they’re suing him for making something beautiful and putting it into the world.  Apparently you can do that now.

I got really excited when I read the headline: “Grateful Dead Original Line-up to Reunite for Obama Fundraiser.” Then I read on and realized it was the surviving members of the Grateful Dead who plan to reunite this October for an Obama benefit, which makes more sense but was also immediately less impressive, both for the obvious reasons and because, on balance, the surviving members of The Grateful Dead are just way less impressive than the nonsurviving members of The Grateful Dead… unless the reunion raises those non-surviving members from the dead and zombie Jerry Garcia stabs Sarah Palin to death with Karl Rove’s spine.

I mean… I don’t know… Shockingly predictable plot turns, transparent dialogue, BJs… I thought this was pretty good. Where’s Donna?
